WHERE ARE MY ELIJAH'S?

During prayer one night with the leadership of the Extreme, I was reminded of the scripture in 2 Kings 2:14. ”And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? And when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.” I want to focus on the question that Elisha asks, “Where is the Lord God of Elijah?” I feel like this is the cry of most believers out there, especially right now with all the drama of the economy, sickness (swine flu etc.), political situations, wars etc.. Believers are asking where is the God of Elijah? However, I believe the Lord is saying to us,“Where are my Elijah’s? I am the Lord I changeth not. (Mal. 3:6) I am the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Heb. 13:8) Where are my Elijah’s? Where are the ones that are not afraid and are bold enough to rebuke kings’s and queen’s that are not living right? (1Kings18:17-18) Where are my Elijah’s? Where are the ones that know how to spend time alone with me and die to their self at the tree? (1Kings 19:4) Where are my Elijah’s? Where are my preachers of righteousness? (1Kings 18:20-24) Where are my Elijah’s? Where are the ones who know how to pray a prayer with an anointing and call the fire down from heaven?(1Kings 18:38) Where are my Elijah’s? Where are the one’s that will call out and confront religion and its false prophets? (1 Kings 18:20-24) Where are my Elijah’s? Where are the ones that will tear down the false altars of worship today and rebuild my altars? Where are my Elijah’s?”God is looking for some people to step up to the calling that is on their life. Its time to move from a place of COMPLACENT Christianity, to a place of COMPASSIONATE Christianity. Its time for us as believers to get back to a lifestyle of prayer, fasting, and studying the scriptures for ourselves vs. being spoon fed once a week for 20 minutes “if that” and then checking that off our “Christian to-do list.”God I ask that you remind us of our covenant with you, reveal any hindrances that are keeping us from the fullness of operating in the calling that you have given us, and manifest any dark areas of our life with the light of your presence. I thank you, honor you, worship you, and give all glory to you! In the mighty name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
